Derek Potton

See the collection

Derek Potton photographed primarily at the London termini and associated motive-power depots as well as his local area of Berkhamsted and Apsley. However, Derek did make visits to other railway centres such as Derby, Ashford, Bournemouth and Scotland and these all feature in the collection.

The photographs are taken on Ilford Panchromatic (fine grain) 35mm film and we have only listed those negatives that are at least of average quality of better.

Unfortunately, the collection comes without any detail and so we have done our best to identify locations, dates etc. However, if you can help add more detail or correct our ‘best guesses’, we would be pleased to hear from you.

The Transport Treasury is indebted to Mark Potton for the loan of his late father’s railway negative collection.
